state government jobs. ex NJ worker and they are great and better than private sector

You know, it is not the KIND of job, but the organization. Unfortunately you are going to have to ask. I suggest you contact the companies you are interested in, tell them you are considering sending a resume but the health benefits are important to you and wonder if they would give you a few minutes to discuss what they offer. You are lucky with what you have now — I have good but not that good
