How much does a travel certificate of health cost from a vet?

I am flying with my cat one-way and am wondering what the estimated cost is to obtain a health certificate from a vet. I do not have a current vet in the city I live in, but do have previous shot records. Will I need to pay for a visit as well as the certificate? Any estimations are greatly appreciated.

Yes, in order for your vet to complete a Health Certificate, the vet must examine your pet.
You can expect to pay for the office visit, ($35 to $40 here in Southern CA).
My vet charges $15 for the Health Certificate. Some may charge more, or may not charge you for one at all, it depends on their policies.

I would call the vet’s office where the shots were given and ask them if they could give you one. They might just mail you one or fax you one free of charge.

My vet examines my dogs and gives them a health certificate all for $10. That’s if he doesn’t have to do anything extra and if they are healthy. I live down in the lower southern states though.
