Has Edward Kennedy always been involved with cancer and health issues?

Does that mean he only started being concerned with cancer once he got it himself? ..or has he always been active with health issues?

No he had been a fighter for it previously for one certain cancer where the patient dies within 6 months.years before…..they said it was odd?Odd things always seem to happen to the kennedys as though they have a curse on them.
