Does anyone else find that they just don’t want to deal with issues when it comes to your health? I have had some issues for the last few years, I do everyting they say and the doctors are happy with my progress except for I don’t tell them when something else is bothering me, I’m not to sure if it’s because I feel like a Hypochondriac or because they keep finding something…

I guess i am kinda like that. I don’t go to doctor unless I really, really have to. I don’t trust them for one thing.. I don’t think I am a hypochondriac but I do think because I am getting older there seems to be something different every day..I chalk it up as being normal with age.

Everyone has health issues as they get older. It is how you deal with them that counts. My philosophy is to ignore symptoms that I have and my days are great. When I think about my symptoms, my days are not great. It is a personal choice. By doing what your doctors recommend, you are doing all that you can each day. But, by withholding information from your doctor, he cannot monitor your health as well as if you would be forthright in your information. Also, just because a doctor recommends something does not mean you have to do it - this too is a choice. BUT, they should have the whole picture so they can continue to monitor your health to the best of their abilities.

it may be both.. i think you are worried that since they have already dound something, your scared they might find more wrong with you… i can understand totally, but you are gonna have to change your thought process… you are keeping yourself miserable and stressing yourself out by constantly worrying… you need to focus on fixing what you got wrong with you and that’s it… nothing else…. if there is something else wrong with you, then you can worry about that when the time comes…. you can’t control that anyway… you are gonna cause more problems from keeping yourself stressed out all the time… relax and focus on other things and get your mind off of it… otherwise you are gonna drive yourself crazy..
    good luck!!!

if u feel there is something else wrong with you, talk to your doctor so you can give yourself a little piece of mind… who cares what they think of you as long as you feel better:)

If you want them to stop finding “something,” just tell them you don’t have insurance and want to know about discounts or payment plans for the unemployed.

I’m joking a little, but not much. I’ve been to doctors under both circumstances, and many doctors (not all) just want your money.

The other issues you speak of is just personal privacy. Doctors act like God, their assistants treat you like little kids and they take a lot of your money, while making you wait long past your appointment time.

What normal person would want to keep doing this?

I do the same. That is, I don’t go to the doctor very much. It’s a demeaning, invasive experience. Usually I’d just rather be sick.
