The link is to an Army Regulation. It is the same for the other branches. Food allergies are disqualifying. From other questions in here they are doing blood tests to detect food allergies. One guy claimed he was declined because he is allergic to Kiwi fruit. A flash to him as he was unaware of it. That is why i think they are doing the blood test. It's old tech and works. Medical issues such as asthma would not mix with the military lifestyle. Joint pains, and such are something that will make military life hard also. You probably could adapt to the military with issues such as permanent pains, damage, and breathing problems, but it would be very hard to adapt. I don’t think food allergies are a problem.
