when it comes to universal health care, how are we to save money in health care costs?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010
rdub8503 asked:

I’ve been hearing that if the U.S. goes into universal health care, that we’d actually save money, but if were spending let’s say 100 billion(I know it’s more than that but just using it as an example) dollars because of medicaid and medicare, how is going to universal health care supposed to bring that number down? how is covering 300 million people going to bring health care cost down if covering 50 million is costing 100 billion already?

Liberals: Health care is a fundamental need and should be protected by government?

Monday, March 29th, 2010
13Fst asked:

So since health care is necessary for an acceptable standard of living we should get involved to make sure everyone has enough?

But what about food, clothing and housing? Those are necessary, should we all have grocery insurance and a govt. clothing allowance? Where does it stop?

How exactly do we decrease health care costs?

Sunday, March 28th, 2010
CONvict Shrubya asked:

I’ve seen this as a criticism, usually by republicans, of the insurance reform concept that dominates the House and Senate bills. They claim that the bills do nothing to actually address the costs of health care.

Okay, fair enough. So how do we actually decrease costs?
Focus on preventative medicine? How is that paid for?
Price controls?

Friday, March 26th, 2010
Ron Brgundy asked:

Call me stupid if you want but I straight up don’t get it. Especially why people are so emotional like they have a turtle head poking out. Lets be honest. Whether the government drastically overhauls health care or keeps it exactly as it is, its probably still gonna **** or continue to ****.

My husband is considering a health care career in the Navy?

Sunday, March 21st, 2010
Zoe’s Mom asked:

He doesn’t know how he will ever be able to finish medical school and support us without some kind of help and the Navy sounds like a tempting way to achieve his goal. Free health care, housing and school. It also seems less dangerous than the Army or Marines. Any advice? Has anyone done this. How will it work with our family? Will he live on base with us? How dangerous is it? Any info would be great. Thanks!

When, and why did the health care debate first start out?

Friday, March 19th, 2010
sparkly unicorn asked:

For my civics class I am researching the health care reform. I have read a lot about it, but i’m just kind of looking for a short summary of it all to make sure i’m getting the correct information.

I’m wondering *when* did U.S. health care first start becoming such a big problem? What made people decide that things needed to change?
