Are Republicans planning to challenge the constitutionality of the Health Care bill?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010
sarge asked:

Since the Republicans don’t have a majority in the House or the Senate, there really isn’t anything they can do to stop the health care overhaul/takeover. But there is still a conservative majority in the Supreme Court (5-4, but it’s enough), so are there any Republicans planning to bring a case to challenge the bill? Because as I understand it, there are more than a few things in the bill that violate the Constitution, and that would be a great way to put an end to it.

How bad is the Canadian Health Care system?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010
want2no asked:

We in the US often hear from certain folks about the terrible problems in the Canadian Health Care system. I do know that no system is perfect and problems can be found with all. Also, I have not spent much time in Canada of late. Yet, I think it has a parliamentary system and popular elections, at least from time to time. If this is true, why don’t Canadian voters demand an end to such a horrible system and enact one like ours, which they certainly have a close up view of? I don’t get it.

Is the American health care system the best system on earth?

Friday, February 26th, 2010
Toad Face asked:

I notice many of my fellow Americans admit there are problems with the US health care system-but they go on to add that the health care system in the US is ’superior’ to all other health care systems on earth. Whaaat? I don’t have health care-neither do 90% of my friends- I can’t afford it- how is that superior to what they have in parts of Europe, where most citizens have coverage?

Why was my health insurance terminated when I am 20 and fulltime college student?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010
This Is Not My Real Name asked:

I am a dependant on my mother’s health insurance from her employer. Recently I was sent a mail requesting a proof of enrollment to show that I am indeed a full-time student. I put in a proof of enrollment that I am taking the 12 units in college, plus I also sent a copy of my schedule for this semester.

Today I get a letter saying that my insurance has been terminated and I am no longer eligible because of my age.

I thought full time students who are 21 and under can still be placed as a dependant? Is there a chance they just didnt receive my mail? If thats so, then why didnt they state that they didnt receive the required proof of enrollment instead of terminating me for my age?

I want to call them but they are closed for the weekend, so any advice from you guys so I know what I am saying when im on the phone with them would be helpful.
Btw it is not grades, I have a 3.5 gpa.
All those telling me to call them up is useless since I already plan to, what I need is any advice on what to say when I do call them on monday, since they are closed for the weekend.

Will the health care reform that is going on make prescription drugs more affordable?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Bill asked:

The new health care legislation that is in the works—-it seems like many more Americans will have some kind of health insurance with this new legislation. I really don’t know what to believe.

Will this new legislation help to make prescription drugs more affordable? I’ve been buying prescription drugs from Canada for a long time (cause many are cheaper there) but maybe I’ll be able to buy them here now in USA per health care reform?

Thanks!

What are the health benefits of drinking vinegar in water?

Sunday, February 14th, 2010
AF1 asked:

I remember reading an article about the many health benefits of drinking a teaspoon or two of apple-cider vinegar in water each day, but forget what the benefits are and can’t find the article now. Does anyone know what they might be?
