However, when I look at sites such as Blue Cross, it seems that low premiums go with high deductibles. I don’t think I would ever meet the yearly deductible, and thus, cannot get any health services covered. So what is the point of such a plan? Thanks.

I mean besides worrying that if the company you work for goes bankrupt there goes your health insurance and the COBRA extension; Also, wouldn’t it be amazing if you could work the job you *want* rather than the one that offers the best benefits. Why do we still have this system as it limits self employment, small business growth and creates job lock? Ever tried buying insurance independently outside of an office pool with two pre-existing conditions? Even if you cut back on absolutely everything, it’s still unaffordable.

I belong to a health club this summer that has a Sauna and steamroom. They are really relaxing, but are they good for you otherwise? The sauna is 180 degrees, and the steamroom is 110 degrees, so they make you sweat a lot, and lose a lot of water, so unless they are good for you I don’t want to use them.

My company pays 100% of my health coverage but not my wife’s. Thus, we are starting to look for best health coverage for us both and my company will reimburse us for the amount they pay for me now. We are both 28 years old and healthy. We will be trying to have a baby soon so this is greatest concern.

What company is best? Blue Cross? Health Net (which is what I have now)? How much does coverage cost for both of us?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
